24 year old girl was attacked by a leopard in Navsari: નવસારીના ચીખલીમાં સાડકપોર ગામના પહાડ ફળિયામાં આદમખોર દીપડાએ 24 વર્ષીય યુવતીનો જીવ લીધો છે. માનવભક્ષી દીપડાએ યુવતીને ફાડી ખાતા સ્થાનિકોમાં ભયનો માહોલ સર્જાયો છે. આ ઘટનાને પગલે વન વિભાગે દીપડાને પકડવા માટે કવાયત હાથ ધરી છે. મળતી માહિતી અનુસાર, ચીખલીમાં સાડકપોર ગામના પહાડ ફળિયામાં રહેતી છાયા ભરતભાઈ નાયકા (ઉં.વ 24) નોકરીએથી આવ્યા બાદ ઘરના વાડામાં શૌચ ક્રિયા કરવા ગઈ હતી. પરંતુ ત્યાં પહેલેથી ઘાત લગાવીને બેઠેલા દીપડાએ છાયા નીચે બેસતા જ એને શિકાર સમજીને એના ઉપર તરાપ મારી હતી. પહાડ ફળિયામાં છાયા પટેલના ઘરના પાછળ શેરડીનું ખેતર સાથે જ આંબાવાડી હોવાથી જંગલ જેવો જ વિસ્તાર બન્યો હતો. ઘરમાં શૌચાલય હોવા છતાં પણ છાયા વાડામાં કળા કેશ જેવા અંધારામાં લાઈટ ચાલુ કર્યા વિના જ ખુલ્લામાં શૌચ કરવા ગઈ હતી. સમાન્ય રીતે દીપડા તેની આંખના સ્તરે આવતા પ્રાણીઓને જ શિકાર બનાવતા હોય છે. માણસની ઉંચાઈને કારણે તેનાથી મોટું પ્રાણી સમજે છે. તેથી માણસ ઉપર શિકારના ઇરાદે હુમલો કરતો નથી. પરંતુ ગત રોજ છાયા શૌચ માટે નીચે બેસી હોવાથી દીપડાએ તેનો શિકાર કરી પોતાનો કોળિયો બનાવ્યો ...
